We seek designers with HVAC and plumbing design experience. You'll be involved with: construction document creation; technical design; manage pre-set production schedules; coordination with other professional disciplines and will work under a licensed professional engineer in a collaborative team environment.

For the first three-six months, you will experience on-the-job training including:
  • A variety of analyses for any different space, building or system types
  • HFA mechanical standards and symbols
  • HFA CAD /REVIT standards
  • Mechanical load calculation software
  • Navigate through mechanical & plumbing codes and/or guidelines
The tasks you'll perform involve:
  • Mechanical load calculations both manually and with software
  • Working on projects using AutoCAD and/or REVIT, creating construction documents and models
  • Create isometric plans
  • Attend meetings and learn from listening, asking questions and discussion
  • Work with people from other disciplines and/or vendors (equipment suppliers) to gain knowledge on new subjects

Within the first year, you'll be putting together simple layout drawings, calculations and reports to more complex construction documents and reporting. You'll also learn about multi-disciplinary design and will gain and understanding of the construction industry and may assist in construction administration on contractor submittal review and addressing contractor questions. By the end of your first year you will continue the development of your detailed design, modeling and engineering design skills and you will begin to teach skills to new hires/graduates.

Some travel within the continental US is required to confirm scope of work and photograph existing conditions of HVAC, and plumbing systems, approximately 15% of the time.

  • Maintain a current library of testing/study materials
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET Accredited College is preferred
  • 1-5 years experience in HVAC/Plumbing design
  • Proactive, professional, timely, and detail-oriented approach to managing project schedules, and deliverables to exceed client expectations
  • Knowledge of building mechanical and plumbing codes
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
  • Knowledge of Trane Trace
  • E-Quest experience is a plus
  • REVIT experience is a plus
