Ability Tree
HFA proudly designed the rendering for Ability Tree, a multi-state ministry to children with disabilities and their parents, providing recreation, education, support, and training. Headquartered in Siloam Springs, AR, Ability Tree’s one-of-a-kind facility comprises 10,000 square feet of space for rest and recreation. The space includes a half-court gym with a retractable stage and seating for plays and training, a sensory gym, a multi-sensory environment room, soft-play equipment, trampolines, balance beams, a Lego room, an accessible tree house, a calming room, a craft room, and a covered outdoor play area in addition to administrative offices. From the 3D tree present in the foyer to the fully accessible outdoor play spaces, the design of the facility is intended to appeal to the senses of everyone who enters the facility, with or without special needs.

HFA Franklin Office
HFA is an architecture and engineering company with offices in Bentonville, Franklin, Fort-Worth, and Mexico City. ECS was selected to work on the office remodel in Franklin, MA. With the COVID-19 pandemic halting work around the country, the project was reimagined into two phases. The first phase includes a space for twenty four workstations, 3 private offices, a new kitchen and break room with seating for twelve, 4 conference rooms to accommodate meetings for 2, 4, 6 and 10+ people respectively. Phase one also includes a design resource center with natural daylight and an engineering resource library.

Pea Ridge High School
HFA was proud to partner with Pea Ridge High School, a 95,258 sq ft campus located in Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Our team worked closely with members of the school’s administration and staff to achieve the desired goal of a unique, professional environment for students and facility alike. Through our Interior Design & 3D Visualization services, we designed several spaces including classrooms, open seating/study areas, a dining area, a culinary center, a community clinic, a media center, an industrial tech lab, an agricultural lab, the theatre entry, and a gym area. The services we used to create these nontraditional high school designs included programming, space planning, FF&E, finish selection, custom millwork, and custom patio furniture design. We also redesigned the existing culinary center and community clinic to better support the function of the space.

University of Arkansas Brough Commons
HFA renovated 3,160 square feet of an existing dining facility. HFA reoriented the cooking station from back of house to front of house, cook to order stations, which helped streamline the circulation paths of patrons. Visual access to cook stations created a dynamic flow throughout the facility and increased the number of meals served. HFA also renovated the main service lines and seating areas of the second-floor dining hall and created a more contemporary layout with varying ceiling heights.

Daniel O'Connells Sons
HFA led the architecture and interior design on an office buildout for Daniel O’Connell’s Sons (DOC), a construction company based in Milford, MA. The company was looking for office space that encourages collaboration and social interaction for its Eastern Massachusetts team. Taking inspiration from their workspace goals, we designed a modern, industrial office environment that takes advantage of existing features while adding new, interesting treatments throughout that add playful elements to the gathering spaces. The program includes eight private offices; 10 open workstations; one large conference room and one smaller “huddle” room; touchdown spaces for field employees; an open and inviting break room and seating area; and informal stand-up gathering spaces to support collaboration.

Lakeview Pavillion
After a fire destroyed the original Lakeview Pavilion, HFA collaborated with the construction manager to fast track the facility’s reconstruction. The new Lakeview Pavilion is a striking wedding and multi-function venue which improved on the original’s past success. With a capacity of approximately 500 guests, the building features cathedral ceilings, ample space for dancing, natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows, and picturesque water views. Two ballrooms provide separate entrances and private decks overlooking the lake allowing the facility to host multiple functions simultaneously.

Boch Auto Salon
Designed and built to house an extensive exotic car collection, this 17,000 square foot facility includes a car detail bay, open gallery, modern kitchen, bar, and private suite. The building can be thought of as two structures. The A-frame area has a full basement, concrete floor slab on deck, Douglas fir glulam trusses and structurally insulated roof panels. The main gallery is slab on grade with a steel joist and metal deck insulated roof.

University of Arkansas Global Campus
HFA led the interior renovation for the U of A’s Global Campus located in Rogers, Arkansas. The 20,000 sq. ft. office space houses multiple occupant groups on a multi-floor, and also includes advanced technology audio and visual production studios. Our team worked with various university department heads to develop a consensus in design solutions for each department, and we developed a cohesive master plan for long-term design standards for the campus. We used wood and tile elements against neutral white to create modern focal points in common areas in the break room and conference rooms. We also conducted a feasibility study for an upcoming addition to the building’s sixth floor and rooftop.

Spaces by IWG
These newly designed co-working locations include enclosed office space of various sizes, open co-working office areas, common business club areas, meeting rooms, a café, break areas and support areas. Brand design is focused on the Millennial and Generation Z workforces. Using wood for focus points and contemporary furnishings with open ceilings helps to create a dynamic urban environment.

Ledger Showroom
Part of a much larger office space that is still under construction, the Ledger Showroom project was unique in that it has provided our team with a place to test out designs, textiles, furnishings, and other functionalities that will one day be used in the larger Ledger Building. This space is made even more unique because of its intended use as a bikeable, high-density coworking space, so our team had to be very creative and incorporate wall hooks for accessible, yet aesthetically pleasing bike storage, allowing people to bike to and from work. Our team even worked to incorporate elements like phone booths in the showroom for a sense of privacy within the open plan coworking space. By test fitting furnishings and design elements while the space is being used allows our team to make real-time changes and further informs the overall design of the larger building, slated to open in mid-2022.
