Project Info
This greenfield project was the first of its kind in Arkansas, introducing advanced proton therapy treatments to patients across the state. Designed for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), the 58,000 SF facility delivers highly targeted cancer treatment using state-of-the-art equipment. The building includes multiple linear accelerator (LINAC) machines and various imaging systems to support precise diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery. To integrate the facility with the existing UAMS infrastructure, it was connected to the campus-wide district energy system. Directional drilling beneath active roadways was used to extend utilities while minimizing disruption to hospital operations and campus traffic. This project brought a major advancement in cancer care to the region and established a new destination for proton therapy in Arkansas. * Experience prior to joining HFA.
