HFA Hires Garrett Small to Lead Civil + Landscape Team

Garrett Small, P.E., recently joined HFA as a Senior Team Lead for Civil + Landscape.

HFA (Harrison French & Associates, LTD) recently named Garrett Small, P.E., as Senior Team Lead of its Civil + Landscape department. Prior to this appointment, Small spent more than 16 years at Walmart in various capacities in retail and real estate development. Small’s background will help HFA’s civil team grow its footprint both locally and nationally.

“Garrett brings an incredible professional background to our studio, and we’re excited to benefit from his creative approach toward leadership,” said Chief Operating Officer Ryan Ray. He adds, “Knowing of the immense talent already present on our civil team, we're excited to see Garrett continue to build momentum in the months and years to come.”

Small is a licensed professional Civil Engineer in CA, TX, and FL. A graduate of Purdue University, Small also has unique training in nuclear, electrical, and mechanical engineering from the Naval Nuclear Power School. With more than 26 years of experience, Small has managed an impressive number of complex development programs, such as large retail new store construction, single-family homes, multifamily high-rise sites, infrastructure developments, and more. His technical expertise spans multiple areas including construction, site development, design (residential and commercial), and entitlements.  

Passionate about influencing positive change, Small says he is most excited about building high performing teams at HFA that will shape the future.
